The undercroft of the Southbank has once again been earmarked for re-development, with the skatepark to be re-located under the Hungerford Bridge.

Lake Farm Skate Park

Looks like a new skatepark is coming to Hillingdon, West London at the Lake Farm Country Park designed by Wheelscape, seems like it could be pretty cool going by the CGI mock-ups.

Bay Sixty 6 Open Again

The Nike SB refurbishment of Bay Sixty 6 is finished and on 15th September they opened in style with a free session and Nike SB demo featuring Justin Brock, Wieger Van Wageningen, Theotis Beasley, Sean Malto, Fernando Bramsmark, Tim Zom, Korahn Gayle, Tom Harrison, Neil Smith, Chris Jones, and new UK team rider Kyron Davis.

Bay Sixty 6 reopens 15th September

So whilst the sun has shined (well almost) Bay Sixty 6 has been closed for them to completely refurbish the park with help from Nike SB.

Their Facebook page has been filled with loads of old videos and photos from over the years and is definitely worth a look to hype you up, along with the images of the new park taking shape.

The park will be open for a free public skate session 3pm-8pm with a Nike SB Team demo between 5pm and 7pm, then it will be open from the following day (16th) to public as normal (not free by the way). Team riders mentioned on the video below include Sean Malto, Justin Brock, Wieger Van Wageningen, Theotis Beasley, Tim Zom, Fernando Bramsmark, Korahn Gayle, Neil Smith, Chris Jones, Kyron Davis and Jacopo Carozzi.

Bay Sixty 6 refurbishment update

The new BaySixty6 Facebook page is keeping everyone up to date on how the refurbishment work is going with weekly updates on a Friday. It’s looking good so far. They have also mentioned that it’s likely to re-open in late August.

Bay Sixty 6 redevelopment to start soon

BaySixty6 Skatepark has announced on their Facebook page that they have secured another two years under the A40 and are going to redevelop the park shortly (with a little help from Nike SB it seems) there’s going to be a Nike SB demo and team signing to celebrate the final session before they close on Go Skateboarding Day (21st June)

Kennington Bowl Revamp Update

The other day we told you that Converse are paying to have the classic Kennington 1970s skate bowl resurfaced and revamped. Well here are some photos of the progress so far from Marc Churchill’s Instagram.

Don’t forget to head down there on Saturday too for the opening bash and also keep an ey on Slam City Skates’ Facebook page all this week as they give away a pair of Converse each day.

Converse are currently working on revamping and fixing up the 1970s Kennington Bowl, to help bring it up to date. With the new look park set to open on 26th May with a big event planned according to the Slam City Skates Facebook page. They are also planning to give away a pair of Converse every day next week so keep an eye on:-
